April and May have to be two of the most beautiful months in Tokyo; the temperature is perfect, there is very little humidity, and every flower and tree is blooming. It's also a very busy time at school for both students and teachers and CAJ (Christian Academy in Japan) is no different. Andy's 6th grade students have been studying a poetry unit and have been using the Psalms as a study text. Megan has been doing a unit on spiritual disciplines in her 8th grade Bible class, paying particular emphasis to Bible Study. Megan and Naomi were blessed to be able to take a short house-hunting trip down to Okinawa a few weeks ago and we are excited about making the move and blessed to have found a house only about a half mile from the school. As of June we will be able to start using our Team Expansion bank accounts which will provide more structure and accountability to our finances as well as make giving easier for many of our supporting families and churches.
Forwarding Agent Update
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Claycie and Scott Gerlt for their many years of service to our ministry as our forwarding agents. They have been such a blessing to our family and ministry. We would also like to welcome a new family to our ministry team, Bucky and Suzanne Ray. The Ray family have been a part of Edmond Christian Church in Oklahoma (one of our supporting churches) and they have graciously agreed to be our forwarding agents with Team Expansion. Over the past few months they have been going through training modules and making preparations with the bank.
We found a 4 bedroom house less than 1/2 mile from the school in Okinawa
Mia and Naomi will get to attend Joy Bible Camp from June 13-17; this camp is especially designed for missionary kids and we know it will be a huge blessing to them
Mia has decided to be baptized on May 15! We will post pictures of her river baptism next week.
The next month is super busy for everyone in our family; Andy will go down to Okinawa by ferry (with our van) on June 14 and the girls and I fly down on June 17.
Summer School at Okinawa Christian School International (OCSI) starts the following Monday, June 20.
Please pray for wisdom for Team Expansion missionaries in Japan.
We are anticipating our moving expenses to be about $2000 and we received about $800 in special gifts last month. Please pray and consider giving toward our ferry costs and airplane tickets.
As soon as our bank accounts with Team Expansion are open, we'll send you all the new address and account information. For now, please continue to use the GSMM account and Columbia, MO address.
