October Update

It's hard to believe that 1st quarter at school is almost finished. Here are some highlights from the first 8 weeks of school!

• 4th/5th graders (and Andy) went on a 4-day camping trip to learn more about God's creation
• High school students (and Megan) celebrated Friendship Friday at the beach to welcome new students and get to know each other 
• Typhoon Chaba visited us and canceled two days of school, but very little damage to the island
• Our girls appeared on a Japanese television show, based on their trip to the States this summer
• Megan's 12th graders are busy applying to college and preparing for their senior mission trip to Taiwan
• Our community group continues to do a book study of the Screwtape Letters (C.S. Lewis) and has grown to include 8 families with lots of children
• Andy was able to preach via Skype to our home church in Sapporo, Japan two weeks ago.

Upcoming Events...

• October 20-21, Megan and high school students go to camp
• November 12, OCSI Walk-a-thon

Family Update...

• Mia moved up to the advanced gymnastics class and is training hard each week
• Naomi continues to stay up late into the night drawing, reading, and knitting and loves playing with her friends.
• Eliya is full of energy and asks questions from morning to night.
• Andy celebrated his 36th birthday this year with a special party from the girls and dinner at a Korean BBQ place near our house.
• Megan will start her next class from FHSU toward her 2nd Masters in Building Administration (principal certification) next week- only 2 more classes to go.
